Through 10:00 PM tomorrow people are shaving their heads at Notre Dame!
Apr 22nd

Jonn Shaver getting his head shaved in the name of cancer research today. We're all aware of the pun with his last name. So, why don't you go and be "Susie Donor" already?
Note: the Friday foyble of the week (FFOTW) is a once per week post where we single out one of our favorite foybles from the many over at www.foyble.com. We don’t have any criteria for the foybles we pick. Email us at contact@foyble.com to nominate someone for the honor!
My friend, Jonn Shaver, got his head shaved today at a fundraiser for St. Baldrick’s. The hair will donated for wigs for cancer patients and the sponsoring donations go to fund grants for childhood cancer research. We love battling cancer here at foyble and we are encourgaging all of you out in foyble-land to get involved. If you’re in South Bend, go get your head shaved! If you’re not in South Bend or just love your faux-hawk too darn much, sponsor Jonn or another head-shaving-do-gooder by making a donation! They are clipping through tomorrow night at 10:00 EDT, so you have plenty of time to help.
Information on the event can be found here.
Go here to make a donation.
Jonn’s original foyble on getting his head shaved can be found here. If When you donate, be sure to click “this inspired me” and link Jonn’s foyble to your own to continue the giving thread! Donating hair is a great way to foyble. Juli grows her hair out and donates to Wigs for Kids benefiting children that have cancer, burn victims, and other diseases. You can view Juli’s foyble here.
Thanks, Jonn for taking an active role in the battle against cancer this week. An internet high-five to you as our Friday Foyble Of The Week!

Hey, Columbus, OH! Upcoming Foybles for LLS
Aug 12th
Foyble user Erin Hertlein and friends are raising money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS) and their annual fundraiser the Light the Night walk, which is on October 3rd this year. Information on the Walk can be found here.
Erin’s bartender buddy, Amber, has agreed to donate ALL OF HER TIPS from her bartending shift at Ruby Tuesday in Columbus TOMORROW (Aug. 13) to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and Light the Night! What an amazing foyble!
So come on out to Ruby Tuesday (the OSU campus live music bar, not the chain restaurant with the salad bar!) at 1978 Summit Street, Columbus, Ohio 43201 tomorrow night. Great happy hour specials are available. But, be sure to tip Amber, because you’ll really be tipping the Leukemia Lymphoma Society!
By the way, Erin Hertlein is a scientist, baby! You should know that Dr. Hertlein is a PhD at Ohio State and works on the LLS James Team. Erin doesn’t just raise money to find a cure, she’s one of the brilliant minds out there actually looking for it!!! If you can’t make it to Ruby Tuesday tomorrow night, then donate to the Light the Night Walk on Erin’s donation page found here!
So, go tip Amber at tomorrow’s happy hour, make a donation through Erin’s page and then be sure to add your foyble to tell us how you helped! Link your Light the Night foyble to the group Erin started. Let’s get a long giving thread going!
Start the GIVE to STOP cancer. That’s pretty sweet.

Central Ohio GIVE
Jul 16th
I had the opportunity to meet some great people tonight that are doing some great GIVE. They need all of us foyblers to get to work for them.
I met Katie Brennan tonight. Katie is a stage 3 melanoma skin cancer survivor who started a foundation to connect survivors, educate others and raise money to help find a cure. Check out her website at www.blackribbonbenefit.org. Katie is holding her 4th Annual Black Ribbon Benefit on Sunday, September 13, 2009 from 5-10 PM at the Lodge Bar in Columbus’ Arena district at 165 Vine Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. Come to her event, meet some great people, and continue the GIVE to wipe out skin cancer! 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Help Katie put a stop to it. Tell us your experience from the Benefit right here on foyble. You will inspire others to get in touch with Katie.
I also had the chance to meet a couple of wonderful law enforcement officers serving central Ohio. They spend their free time operating Get Behind the Badge, a non profit organization that provides immediate financial assistance to the families of those police officers and firemen that die or are critically injured in the line of duty. These guys are amazing! If a police officer or fireman dies in the line of duty, Get Behind the Badge shows up at the person’s door with $5,000 in cash to help the family through the most difficult of times. Critically injured officers receive cash too. Their help is invaluable, unexpected, and such a great comfort to the families of those who have given everything to protect us. Every dollar they raise goes right to the family of a public servant who made the ultimate sacrifice. It doesn’t get more GIVE than that, does it?
If you are looking for a good foyble, Katie Brennan and Get Behind the Badge can use your help!
Good times, good people, good giving. Get your foyble on!
